"Mechanism of catalysis of hydrogen transfer, oxidation and hydrogenation reactions"

Research Objective:

The general objective is to improve the understanding of the mechanism of the catalysis of hydrogen transfer, oxidation and racemization reactions. Specifically, we will study mechanistic aspects of (i) metal-cyclopentadienyl and metal-hydroxycyclopentadienyl catalysts with the ruthenium, iron and iridium metal centers; (ii) oxygen-transfer and C-H bond activation catalyzed by the methylrhenium trioxide (CH3ReO3); (iii) the intramolecular Lewis acid-base cooperation in organometallic and main-group complexes.

Postdoctoral fellowship(s):

A post-doctoral research position is now available in my group. The position is in the field of the applied density functional theory (DFT) with the focus on modeling of the activation and transformation of chemical bonds by the Lewis acid-Lewis base complexes. Research will involve computational studies of the chemical activation of the hydrogen, H2, and greenhouse gases, N2O and CO2.
