Erik Lindstedt

Erik finished his MSc in organic and medicinal chemistry at Gothenburg University the fall 2012, after a diploma work in Per-Ola Norrby's group.

Erik started his PhD in October 2012, and defended his thesis May 12th, 2017. He is now employed by OleiniTec, a company selling chemical analysis equipment.

Yuvraj Satkar

Yuvraj started his PhD with César Solorio at University of Guanajuato, Mexico in 2016. He joined our group in the end of April 2017 for a 3 month PhD exchange period, supervised by Elin. He is now back in Mexico to continue his PhD studies.

Nibadita Purkait

Nibadita did her PhD with Prof. Siegfried Blechert at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, and then a post doc with Prof. Kilian Muñiz at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), Tarragona, Spain. She then took on a faculty position at the Haldia Institute of Technology, India. She did a short post doc in the group October 2016 - June 2017, and is now working as a teacher in Stockholm.

Melanie Walther

Melanie was an Erasmus student from Kiel University. She did a practical project in the group in April-July 2017, supervised by Marcus.

Elin Stridfeldt

Elin finished her MSc in chemichal engineering at KTH in the summer 2012, after a Master project in Peter Somfai's group.

She started her PhD in our group in September 2012, and defended her thesis June 2nd, 2017. She is now employed by the biocatalysis company EnginZyme.

Viola Hobiger

Viola was an Erasmus student from Vienna, who did a practical project in the group August-October 2016, supervised by Piret.
She is now a Master student at the department.

Gergely Tolnai

Gergely did his PhD with Prof. Zoltán Novák at the Eötvös University in Hungary, and finished in 2014. He was a post doc in our group from April 2015 to October 2016, financed by a Fellowship from Olle Engkvist Byggmästare Foundation. Gergely has now begun his independent career with a three-year position at the Eötvös University in Hungary.

Chandan Dey

Chandan did a PhD with Prof. Peter Kündig at the University of Geneva, and did a first post doc with Prof. Antonio Mezzetti at ETH Zürich. He joined our group for a second post doc 2014- 2016, financed by a Carl Trygger Fellowship. Chandan is now a team leader in fungicide at BASF-Mumbai in India.

Constantin Ruppel

Constantin was an Erasmus student from Kiel University, and did a Bachelor degree project in the group March - June 2015.

Constantin worked on a collaboration project with Anne Staubitz at Kiel University.

Alexandra Seemann

Alexandra is an Erasmus student from Hannover University, and does a Master degree project in the group September 2014 - March 2015.

Joel Malmgren

Joel did a 45 hp diploma work January-August 2009 on an environmentally benign synthesis of diaryliodonium salts together with Ellie Merritt, which resulted in a publication.

He started a PhD student in the group in January 2010, and studied the chemoselectivity of diaryliodonium salts, as well as Pd-catalyzed arylation reactions. He defended his licentiate thesis in October 2013, and his doctoral thesis in October 2014 with Prof. Jérôme Waser (EPFL) as opponent.

Joel is now employed by the Swedish Patent and registration office.

Christin Schmitz

Christin was an Erasmus student from Kiel University, and did a Bachelor degree project in the group August-October 2014. Christin worked on a collaboration project with Anne Staubitz at Kiel University.

Vittorio Pace

Vittorio finished his PhD with Prof. Andrés Rafael Alcántara at the University of Madrid in 2010.

He then did a first post doc in Vienna with Prof. Wolfgang Holzer, and a second post doc at the University of Mancester with Prof. David Procter.

Vittorio did a third post doc in the BO group from October 2013 to July 2014, financed by a special Stockholm University post doctoral position, and is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna.

Francesco Pisapia

Francesco obtained a Master in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Naples in 2013.

He did a practical project in the group from mid January to mid April 2014, working together with Vittorio.

Raju Ghosh

Raju did his PhD with Prof. Amitabha Sarkar in Kolkata, India, working with transition metal-catalyzed reactions.

He did a post doc with us from March 2012 to March 2014, financed by the Wenner-Gren Foundations. Raju worked on several O-arylation projects, and is now working at GVK Biosciences in Hyderabad, India.

Jan Blid

Jan finished his PhD in Peter Somfai's group at KTH in 2005, and was a synthesis specialist at AstraZeneca Södertälje until they closed down the R&D in 2012.

Jan was a part time researcher in the group February 2013-January 2014, while starting his company KeytoLead. He is now working at Nanologica.

Sebastian Beil

Sebastian was an Erasmus student from Germany, who did a 3 month degree project in the group in the fall 2013. He worked on a collaboration project with Anne Staubitz at Kiel University. He is currently a PhD student in Prof. Waldvogel's group at Mainz University in Germany.

Marinus Bouma

Marinus did his Master in Amsterdam, and then moved to France for a PhD with Prof. Jieping Zhu at ICSN, working with multicomponent reactions.

He did a post doc with us Feb 2011 - August 2013, financed by the Carl-Trygger Foundation, and worked on synthesis and applications of alkynyliodonium salts.

He is now employed by ReciPharm in Uppsala.

Iris Tebeka

Iris did her PhD in Sao Paulo University, Brazil, with Prof. Luiz Silva.

She joined our group for a short post doc October 2012-January 2013 funded by STINT, and worked with Marinus on the synthesis of iodonium salts.

She is now employed by Dow in Texas.

Corentin Pavageau

Corentin was a Master student at ENS Cachan in France. He did an internship in our group from October 2012 to January 2013.

Mustafa Catir

Mustafa did his PhD in Ataturk University, Turkey, on hypervalent iodine-mediated reactions. Now he holds an Assistant Professor position at Erzincan University in Turkey.

He did a short post doc in the group from February-September 2012, financed by TUBITAK, on the synthesis and applications of polymerbound hypervalent iodine reagents.

Nazli Jalalian

Nazli started her PhD in July 2007 after finishing her MSc degree from Stockholm University.
She worked on applications of diaryliodonium salts in organic synthesis, defended her licentiate thesis in February 2010 and her doctoral thesis in June 2012 with Prof. Viktor Zhdankin as opponent.

Nazli is now employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.

Thore Frister

Thore was an Erasmus student from Hannover. He did a diploma work on arylation of phenols from September 2011 to February 2012, and is now back in Hannover to finish his studies.

Umar is a 3rd year PhD studen in Thomas Wirth's group at Cardiff University.

He did a short exchange period in our group in January 2012, as a part of a collaboration between the research groups.

Tue Petersen

Tue did a post doc in the group from May 2009 to April 2011, funded by Carl Trygger Foundation. He worked on metal-catalyzed and metal-free arylations of nucleophiles with diaryliodonium salts.

Before coming to Stockholm, Tue did his PhD with Prof. Bruce Lipshutz at the University of California, Santa Barbara, followed by a post doc with Prof. Peter Kündig at the University of Geneva.

Tue is now a chemistry teacher at Erhvervsakademi Sjælland in Denmark.

Marcin Bielawski

Marcin started his PhD in March 2006 after finishing his MSc at Lund University.
During his PhD, he developed several efficient one-pot syntheses of diaryliodonium salts.
He defended his licentiate thesis in June 2008, and his doctoral thesis in April 2011 with Prof. Antonio Togni (ETH) as opponent.

Marcin finished his work in the group in May 2011, and is now employed as Chemical Safety Officer at Max IV.

Eleanor Merritt

Ellie was a post doc in the group from August 2008 to January 2011, and was financed by a Wenner-Gren Foundations scholarship for most of the period.

Eleanor worked on environmentally benign processes within hypervalent iodine chemistry, and developed several new reactions.

She did her PhD with Dr. Mark Bagley at Cardiff University and finished in 2008. She is now working at RSC with ChemComm.

Rehan Khan

Rehan was an exchange PhD student from Pakistan, who worked the group from February to July 2010. He was financed by a HEC scholarship.

Rehan worked on application of hypervalent iodine reagents together with Tue.

Leticia Pardo

Leticia spent 3 months in the group as an exchange PhD student in the spring 2010. She is now back in the group of Imanol Tellitu at the Basque Country University, Spain.

She worked on the synthesis and use of diaryliodonium salts together with Marcin.

She currently is a post doc in the McGlacken group at the University college of Cork.

Vania Carneiro

Vania is an exchange PhD student in the group from January to April 2010. She is the second exchange student in a STINT-financed collaboration with Luiz F. Silva, Jr. in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Eloisa did an exchange period in the group from July to Nov 2009. She was the first exchange student in a STINT-financed collaboration with Luiz F. Silva, Jr. in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Mingzhao did his PhD with Prof. Ludger Wessjohann in Halle, Germany, and a post doc with Prof. Markus Kalesse in Hannover, Germany. He subsequently did a post doc in the BO group from April 2007 to March 2009, funded by Carl Trygger Foundation.

He is working at Texas A&M University, USA.

Jan Caspar

Jan joined the group in September 2008 as an Erasmus student from Göttingen, Germany. He worked on asymmetric arylations, supervised by Nazli Jalalian.

He finished his project in January 2009 and is now back in Göttingen.

Felix Klinke

Felix joined the group in October 2007 as an Erasmus student from Göttingen, Germany. He was supervised by Mingzhao Zhu, finished his project in April 2008 and is now back in Göttingen.

David Aili

David studied at Linköping University and joined the group to do a diploma work in spring 2007. He worked on the regiospecific synthesis of diaryliodonium salts under the supervision of Marcin Bielawski. He then worked at Syntagon until the start of his PhD studies at DTU, Copenhagen in August 2008. He is currently a researcher at DTU Energy.

David received the AstraZeneca award for excellence for his diploma work.
